More pictures of the production version of Hyundai’s RWD Genesis luxury sedan have come to light. The Genesis concept had some obvious BMW styling cues, particularly in the rear and the production version seems to have taken this a step further. Looking very much like a cross between BMW’s 5 and 7-Series, even down to the alloys from a distance, its not hard to guess that Hyundai have the Germans in their sights.

Unlike the BMW medium and large sedans, the Genesis will not cost an arm and a leg when it goes on sale in North America in 2008. Prices are expected to start well under $US30,000 which will see the Genesis come in under the pricing of the Aussie supplied Pontiac G8 GT and around the price of a 3-Series bimmer.

This is going to be one interesting car to watch as it presents – on paper at least – the full package. A modern 4.6-litre V8, RWD and plenty of luxury, its just a pity that the Genesis is not earmarked for Australia.
